Powerful editorial portrait photography for magazines

Editorial portrait photography aims to reinforce articles, and entire magazines. A striking portrait with a story of its own tempts viewers to read the article.

Jeroen Bouman gives (elements from) the surroundings an important role in his portraits. It enlivens the image and it's fair to say he's really specialized in 'photography on location'. Jeroen relies on his intuition and improvisation skills to turn any given situation into a photo opportunity.

"You never know how a person is going to react to your camera, or what the location will look like. And then there's the pressure of time, and interviews always draw out. But I perform well under stress, and when I have to make do, I'm at my very best."

Jeroen Bouman's commissioned portraits find their way to a broad range of magazines and periodicals, from staff and customer relations magazines to glossies. Jeroen shoots mainly in The Hague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht, but assignments have taken him to every corner of The Netherlands.
