Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Very true, because the perception of beauty is a very personal matter. But beauty photography doesn’t always require top models.
“I actually prefer street models over top models. They’re more natural, and lack the studied poses of their highly paid colleagues – not to mention their airs. Real beauty comes from within, for me it’s in a glance, the way a smile forms around their lips. That’s what I want to capture in my beauty photography.”
By the way, a good makeup artist can make a real difference, certainly if the hairdo also gets addressed. Then beauty photography becomes a whole lot easier.
